What The Commons Is
The Commons is a social platform โ video, text, images, live streaming, everything โ but built on a completely different foundation. No advertising. No data selling. No algorithm designed to keep you scrolling at the cost of your wellbeing. No corporations extracting wealth from local communities. No foreign ownership of the infrastructure your democracy runs on.
The feed is transparent โ you can always see why you're shown what you're shown. You choose how it works. Truth is verified before it reaches you โ political content and news goes through a built-in fact-checking system before it publishes. Deepfakes are detected and blocked. Misinformation simply doesn't exist on the platform because it never gets published in the first place.
Local small businesses and individual creators can sell their products through it. The platform takes a flat $1 per sale โ not a percentage, not advertising revenue, just enough to keep the lights on. Any surplus goes back into the platform. No profit. Ever.
Any surplus above operating costs is directed to humanitarian causes every 6 months and to The Monthly Blessing โ community chosen, community voted. Every dollar is transparent and publicly available on the platform.
Guidelines
These guidelines govern The Commons. No guideline can be quietly changed. Every amendment is logged publicly.
This platform exists for its users. Not for shareholders, advertisers, or governments. Every decision is measured against this.
The Commons carries no advertising. No paid promotion. No sponsored content disguised as organic. The feed is not for sale. Ever.
User data is never sold, shared, or used for purposes beyond operating the platform. Users own their data. Full export available at any time. Deletion is real.
The Commons collects no biometric data. No fingerprints, no facial recognition, no voice prints. A username and password is enough. Your body is yours.
The algorithm is transparent. Users always know why they see what they see. Nothing is hidden. The platform is a tool users hold, not a force acting on them.
Misinformation is never published. Political content and news is verified before it reaches anyone. Nothing true is ever accidentally removed. Human review precedes all removals.
Every user has inherent dignity. Harassment, dehumanization, and targeted abuse are incompatible with this platform.
Children are protected. Youth safety is a Codex-level commitment โ not a policy that can be quietly weakened.
No single government, corporation, or actor can shut down The Commons. The platform is distributed. The beacon stays lit.
The marketplace serves individuals and locally owned small businesses only. No corporations. No private equity. No publicly traded companies. The $1 contribution circulates money locally.
The Commons operates at cost. The $1 transaction contribution covers operating costs only. Any surplus is reinvested into the platform. No profit is ever distributed to anyone.
The platform cares about the people who use it. Session nudges, content pattern awareness, youth protections โ these are not restrictions. They are care.
Each month, The Commons community selects one member in genuine life-sustaining need to receive a Blessing. Ten percent of monthly surplus is set aside for this purpose. The team verifies need โ medical, housing, food security. Not wants. The community votes. The highest vote wins. One blessing. One person or family. Every month. Maximum $19,000 for individuals, $38,000 for families per calendar year. Every application, every vote, every dollar is published publicly. The Commons is a facilitator only. This is the community caring for its own.
Any money remaining after operating costs are covered is donated to a humanitarian cause every six months. Not kept. Not invested for profit. Given. Architect Founder Krone designates the cause. Every donation is published publicly on the platform. Full transparency. No exceptions.
This platform was built by the people, for the people. It belongs to no corporation, no government, no single person. It belongs to everyone who uses it. Power to the People.
Verified Sources
The Fingerprint truth verification system checks political and news content against these verified sources before publishing. This list is public. The team reviews it quarterly.
